HILFN training
Local Food Apprenticeship in Horticulture
Highlands and Islands Local Food Network is running a one year training programme to help expand small scale horticulture production in Highlands and Islands throughout 2007.
There is strong demand for local produce across the Highlands and the aim of the course is to provide in-depth practical training to help small agricultural producers to establish successful new businesses based on the supply of fresh horticultural produce to local customers. The course is covering the full range of skills from planning and propagation to storage and marketing. The course is practically based, at local farms and gardens, with input from SAC, funding from HIE, and recognition by LANTRA.
